Num. I inherited a giant zucchini (aka Big Man on Campus) this weekend and felt obligated to make something with it. Now giant veggies often do not taste very nice, so I figured on grating it up and making it into zucchini muffins, bread, cupcakes, something.

As you can see, huge. And it’s well traveled too, born in Prince Edward County, tenured in Ottawa, eaten in Toronto. Here’s a tip-if you are boarding a plane with felony producing tools, carry a giant vegetable to put through the x-ray machine and the people watching for bad stuff will be too distracted to notice anything.

Anyway, I found a recipe that sounded great, and followed that. It’s out of “Everyday Food”, a recipe magazine put out by the publishers of Martha Stewart Living. I love this little magazine, I have a subscription to it, and I try to make at least one recipe out of each issue.

Long story short, it’s not a very good recipe, typical, I understand, of a lot of MS recipes.

There’s chopped pecans in the batter, so I stuck halves on the top.

It’s cream cheese frosting. I made way too much, and now I don’t know what to do with the leftovers. I coloured it pink because, hey, I like pink, and because I don’t have any green food colouring, which, realistically, would have made more sense. Maybe I will spread it on bagels. Is that even legal?

Best thing I ever got at Value Village. I wear it out sometimes because it’s so funny.
