With my by myself

Posted by – 07/10/2008

Lots of things make me laugh. Yesterday I picked T (the woman I work for) up at her work and ended up waiting for her while she cleaned up the classroom. The wing of the school she works at is for pre-schoolers and there were self portraits hanging with the child’s name, favourite colour, things they like to do and things they are able to do on their own. Girls mostly answer ‘pink’ for colour.  Lots of kids had ‘get dressed’ as their answer for things they can do solo, and ‘play’ was probably the number 1 answer for things they like to do. It was pretty cute, and made me laugh. Some kids are better at colouring than others and a lot of the pictures looked totally bizarre and alien. I only managed to snap one picture with my phone:

If it hadn’t been for each child’s name, it would be impossible to figure out who’s who, I think.

Emily’s children also make me laugh. They are almost 1 now and are busy as beavers.

gabe gabe Beabea

I think they don’t like being strapped down. Bea looks pissed.

We almost always watch SNL, but it almost never makes me laugh. The most recent episode, with The Killers and Anne Hathaway, almost made me die laughing and I have had the song from the Lawrence Welk sketch in my head since.  Kristen Wiig really only does one character (weird, creepy, freaks out everyone else) but she does it really well. And the baby hand sent it over the top.

Em: please remind me to tell you about the zoo when I see you in 2 days.

This blog entry is bad. Sorry.

At first I thought the preschooler had drawn the outline, and I couldn’t understand why you were using this as a weird example when there was clearly some child prodigy here.

Ahaahaa, sorry, it was a simple drawing that the kids colour the clothes and stuff, and draw on their hair.

One had a green face with no eyes. Lots just had a brown scribble at the top for hair. I remember being stumped at how to draw hair, it takes some figuring out.

I actually quite liked this post :) I liked the first line. I’ve only just rediscovered yours and Shannon’s blogs, and the one thing that is true about you is that you both definitely find lots of things to make you laugh. I’d forgotten that, and it’s really nice to read about. it makes me find more things to laugh at too. I even looked for ducks the other day!

Thanks, Spunky. I remember you from my past life on iam (circa 2000-2002). Glad to have you on board!
