Hat pattern

As per request, best of luck deciphering it.

I used Bernat Alpaca blend, which is a thicker yarn, and I think an H hook. But that might not be correct, but it’s a thicker one,

Chain 3, use a slip stitch to attach into a ring.

1.Ch3 (first dc), work 10 dc’s into ring, sl st in first sc to join=11 dc

2. Ch 3, dc, 2 dc in each st, sl st in first sc to join =22 dc

3. Ch 3, dc, dc, *2dc in next sc, dc in next, repeat from * around, sl st in first sc to join =33 dc

4. Ch 3, dc in first 3 st, *2 dc in next sc, dc in next 2 sc, repeat from * around, sl st in first sc to join= 44 dc

5. Ch 3, dc in first 4 st, *2 dc in next sc, dc in next 3 sc, repeat from * around, sl st in first sc to join= 55 dc

6. Ch 3, dc in each sc around, sl st in first sc to join =56 dc

7. Ch 3, dc in first 3 st, *2 dc in next sc, dc in next 3 sc, repeat from * around, sl st in first sc to join= 70 dc

Continue for 17 rows, or until it’s big enough for your head. Make it look pretty, tuck in those excess ends. I make them big because I have a big head and so do all the people I love the most in the world.

I keep forgetting to take pictures of me with my custom-made hat (for husky heads!).
BTW I am interviewing with The Body Shop today. I can send you things that smell nice.

No problem, Treyci. Well, I mean, it was a huge pain in the ass and I think that there might be problems with it, but I am glad I did it, because next time, when I post my scarf patterns, I won’t be as cranky about it.

Ali, good news-I like Body Shop stuff and Shannon uses shampoo from there. I like the new pulse point energy stuff, it’s nice. But will you just be a retail shill? Or is it a sweeter position? Management perhaps?

hey, sometimes it helps to get a nudge. ha ha. there are plenty of things I don’t get around to doing until someone asks. case in point: I had little wheeled wooden animals to paint to make a little “animal train” for my son’s room. (I’m pregnant right now.) and I had every intention of actually doing it, but it wasn’t until my mom asked what I was doing with them that I realized I couldn’t really explain how I was painting them. so I just sat down and finished it so I could email her a picture.
I’m really glad you shared, I love those hats and I need to do more crocheting as opposed to knitting. do you knit at all?

Well, I AM management at The Barn; just department level though. The Body Shop gig is for store manager, however.

And you have a giant head. What’s your point? ;)

  • Allahkat  On 10/19/2008 at 5:30 am

HUGE head. Use up a bottle shampoo just washing my hurr.

I believe that you’ve created a monster, Caitlin. Since Friday, I’ve made four hats. ha ha. I modified the pattern slightly. I’ll have to take some pictures for you. (mostly just so you can laugh at me.)
