Red Alert! Red Alert!

Hello, all you ladies out there, I have a serious warning for you: Walmart takes bathing suits back! YES! I was behind a woman in line at customer service today and she returned 2 bikini bottoms with NO QUESTIONS ASKED!  I almost barfed. When I got to the head of the line I asked the man if he seriously had just returned them and he said that they hadn’t been worn, they still had the protective sticker inside.

Yeah? Still gross. From now on, when purchasing intimate type items, I will be asking the store about their return policy.

Ugh.

I would not be surprised if Wal-Mart takes underwear back. Here, at least, they are somewhat notorious for taking anything back (or at least they were at some point–in fairness, perhaps this has become less lax), including things that did not even come from Wal-Mart. A friend of mine used to be a supervisor of sorts there. More than once I’ve been with her when she’s taken back old, opened DVDs she no longer felt the urge to own so she could buy something else because she knows how lax their return policy is.

Seriously, that’s terrible. Underwear? Like, a THONG? You can return a string that goes up your CRACK to VS? That’s so revolting. I mean, I do wash all brand new underwear before I wear it, but does everyone? Even then, agg. There’s a reason I don’t buy stuff like that at Value Village, and no one should, brand new undies cost about as much as the used ones at VV. The only reason to buy ‘em there is if you’re…into that sort of thing. I’m drifting from the point, but when I worked at Value Village, the only people I ever saw perusing the women’s panties were men. Seriously.

Oh, and ps, at Winner’s, when one buys undies or swimsuits, one is told “This sale is final, ok?” to which I’ve replied “thank goodness for that!”

Generally speaking Wal Mart grosses/creeps me out in equal parts.

Sarah, I think all chicks have been there, sadly. It happens. Underwear is sold at Shopper’s Drugmart nowadays, which is nice, and it’s packaged so it feels more sanitary-although who knows how many hands it goes thru before it hits the racks!

In the US almost all retailers let customers return swimwear as long as the tags are still attached. They consider it a customer satisfaction issue…
